General Description and Facts:
The house, called “Casa Denise”, is located in Salvador´s most prestigious and at the same time most renowned district: Porto da Barra.
The house with its preserved basic structure, original facade and floor plan, is the oldest traditional town house in Porto. Through the commitment of one of Bahia’s most famous contemporary architects, Neilton Dórea, the house was remodeled and restored in the early 1920’s.
2 originally closed rooms were completely opened: On the one hand for the internal Dining area and on the other hand for the stairs to the newly created 1st floor.
The roof on the side opposite the beach and sea was slightly elevated, thus creating a spacious terrace right in front of the bedroom, including a walk-in closet area, a toilet with shower and an open gallery living room. The living room on the ground floor leads to the inner courtyard.
Furthermore there is an open American style kitchen in a beautifully planted courtyard with dining table and seating in front of the guest house at the end of the property. In the patio there is also an open shower and a storage room. The house has 2 aluminum water tanks with a filter system.
There are in total 3 bedrooms (suites), one in the ground floor, another one on the 1st floor and finally an additional suite for guests next to the patio.

The Porto da Barra is one of the most beautiful places in Salvador: a small beach area between the Forte de Santa Maria and the Forte São Diogo at the entrance to theAll Saints’ Bay “Baia de Todos os Santos” overlooking the island of Itaparica. Car traffic during the weekends is prohibited – which increased the residential attractiveness of the region considerably. It is a very clean and highly maintained district of Salvador. The surrounding streets are richly endowed with restaurants, snack bars and bars.
